About
Why this catalog exists and who maintains it.
- This catalog exists for the love we have for video games as audiovisual works. For gamers, preserving them is part of our culture and heritage. The community helps us keep it going and we are not looking to profit from this project, only to preserve. Donations, if any, go to keeping the site running.
- Many of these titles can no longer be bought in official stores. That is why these projects ask you for your own copy of the game.
- These projects were created with tools and reverse engineering to understand how the game works. They require your own copy of the game and we do not support piracy.
How the catalog works
- Each port is a file in the repository and changes are reviewed in public. A port is marked as tested only if there is a registered test, with the hardware used.
- If a project is removed by legal action, it is marked as removed and the link is taken down, but it is not deleted from the history.
- Before linking a repository we check that it is the project's official source. Entries imported from community indexes are marked 'source not verified by the team'.
- The code is MIT and the data is CC BY 4.0: you can reuse them respecting the license.
- All participation is open and public. You can submit what you tested, bugs, or anything that helps improve the project.
- The original texts are in Spanish and the English translations were assisted by an LLM. If you see a mistake, tell us.
