How to propose a port or a test, and what the catalog accepts.

Propose a port

Anyone can propose a port or report a test through the GitHub issue templates. Issues are public, which means their discussion is the review process.

Open the template for the proposal from the links below.
Fill in the fields: they are the acceptance criteria, so an incomplete proposal is easier to reject.
Maintainers answer in the issue. When accepted, the port or test is published straight from the data the issue collected.

For projects that meet the acceptance criteria and that we can verify.

For tests run on the public hardware profiles by declared testers.

Code availability is explicit: open source ports link to their official repository, and closed source ports must have a verifiable official source.
The port does not distribute the original game's files.
Proposals that include a direct link to game files, ROMs or ISOs are rejected: a proposal points at a project, never at a download.
Platforms, status, genre and version are explicit and verifiable in the proposal.
A test can only be proposed by the tester that ran it, on a declared hardware profile.

Approved proposals are added to the catalog. If new data contradicts an entry, it is corrected or removed. Every change is public in this repository's history.
